It’s been a good week
It’s basically do or die this week, the Kiwanis music festival is almost over. Performed the Bach Prelude from Partita #3 for Solo Violin on Wednesday, and rehearsed all day Thursday. Then, on Friday, played the Wieniawski Legende, and the Bruch Concerto, with piano accompaniment. They went awesome. That same evening, played some pieces with our violin ensemble, the Chopin Nocturne, and variations on La Folia, and then, with our miniature-chamber-string-orchestra, played the overture from Telemann’s Don Quixote suite, along with the Bartok Romanian Dances and the third movement of the Divertimento, with awesome feedback. Then played the Vivaldi Spring Concerto, first movement, with my small orchestra, and a Boccherini Sinfonia (#25). Today, rehearsals and tutors and going out for coffee all day long, played a gig with my quartet, and generally impressed myself with the fact that I can still play. Tomorrow, up again at nine to perform with my quartet again, the Nocturne and the Scherzo from the Borodin String Quartet #2, and then playing the first movement of the Brahms Sonata #2, op. 100, before heading over to my large orchestra’s rehearsal. Oh! and sitting concertmaster for two of those numbers, which I am super excited about!!! It’ll be solid. Then back to reality.
But, in the meantime, Brahms Symphony #3 on vinyl, and trying to stay awake.
I’m having so much fun, for real. It’s amazing.
